Coastal Carpet Python
Morelia spilota mcdowelli (Reptiles & Amphibians)
Australia (suburban area, rainforests, forests, etc.)
Wild: Unknown
Captivity: 30 years
Most people think of snakes as a reptile that slithers around on the ground, but coastal carpet pythons like Noodle are an arboreal or semi-arboreal species, meaning they spend a lot of their lives hunting, lounging, and sleeping in trees.
Replicating these environments in captivity can be extremely challenging, and so people should reconsider whether they're able to provide optimal living conditions to an animal before they own one.
